The debt crisis has been choking the poorest countries for the last two decades - play your part in ending debt slavery

• URGENT: Tell the Finance Ministers to Drop the Debt. On Saturday July 7, the G7 Finance Ministers are meeting in Rome and will finalise what their governments will announce at the Genoa Summit. Please send them an urgent message to say that they should instruct the IMF and the World Bank to deliver 100% debt cancellation for the world's poorest countries. There are three ways to drop them a line to drop the debt.

• Debt campaigners across UK target Italian embassy and consulates
  In the run-up to the crucial IMF/World Bank meetings debt campaigners in London, Edinburgh, Manchester and Bedford have taken to the streets calling on Italy - hosts of the world leaders' summit in Genoa this July - to 'pull the strings' of the IMF and the World Bank and instruct them to drop the debt of the world's poorest countries NOW. Find out what's going on and how you can take part.

• U2 fans and Bono are urging US President George Bush to take a lead on further debt cancellation. The U2 Elevation Tour is officially supporting the Drop the Debt campaign, and concert-goers are sending postcards on mass to the Whitehouse. You can join in by sending an email.

• Tell the Italian government, the hosts of the G8 summit to make sure a New Deal on Debt is agreed in Genoa in July. Italy is this year in charge of the agenda for the G8 summit - email the government now to urge them to make Genoa famous for ending the debt crisis.

• Come to Genoa ! If you can, please come to the streets of Genoa on Saturday 21 July where the G8 world's leaders will be meeting. We need to get our message across as loudly as possible ! If you can't come to Genoa, take part in the International Week of Action on Debt, with events kicking off around the world on July 15.
